Frequently asked questions
- Will my photo be accepted?
- These pages get the size right and, on the passport pages, scale the head to the height the rules give, which is what most photos are rejected for. They cannot judge the rest: expression, glasses, lighting and how recent the photo is depend on the photo you start from. Rules change, so check the issuing authority’s current requirements before you apply.
- Is my photo uploaded?
- No. The face is found, cropped and scaled in your browser, and the white background is put in by a model that runs on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, which matters for a picture of your face.
- How do I print passport photos at home or at a kiosk?
- Make the photo, then open a print sheet: it repeats the photo on 4×6 inch, 5×7, L-size or A4 paper at 300 dpi with light cut lines. Print at actual size (100%), not fit to page, and measure one photo with a ruler before cutting the rest.
- Is it free?
- Yes, with no account and no watermark on the photo. The free plan handles 3 photos per run, 20 MB each and 5 runs a day; Pro removes these limits.
