Frequently asked questions
- Is it the same as a UK or Schengen photo?
- The print is the same 35 × 45 mm and the head range is close, so one photo often serves for several. The differences are in the rules around the photo rather than its size — expression, glasses, head coverings — so check the Australian Passport Office requirements rather than assuming a photo accepted elsewhere will pass.
- Does a working holiday visa use this size?
- Australian visa applications are usually made online and ask for a digital file with its own limits rather than a print. Use this page for the geometry, then the image compressor if there is a file-size cap.
- Will a photo taken at home be accepted?
- The size and head measurement are what this guarantees. Everything else is judged on application, against requirements the Australian Passport Office publishes. Read them before printing.
- Is the photo uploaded?
