How it works

Frequently asked questions
- Why 4 × 4 and not 35 × 45 mm?
- Because Argentina uses a square, not the European rectangle. Cropping a 35 × 45 photo down to a square leaves the head at a different proportion, so it is better to frame for 4 × 4 from the start than to adapt a photo made for somewhere else.
- Does the same photo work for the DNI and the passport?
- The size is the same for both. What differs between offices is everything around it — how recent the photo is, expression, glasses, background — and that is set by RENAPER. Read their requirements before printing, because a photo of the right size in the wrong pose comes back either way.
- What should the background be?
- Plain and light. If the wall has texture or a shadow, set the background to white here. Even so, photographing against an even wall beats replacing the background afterwards, because the edge of the hair always suffers a little.
- Is the photo uploaded?
- No. The crop happens inside the browser and the image is never sent to a server.
