How it works

1. Drop the image you want to pin.
2. Fill and crop is already chosen and a 2:3 frame appears. Drag it onto the part of the picture that should carry the pin.
3. Press Resize for Pinterest. The result is exactly 1000 × 1500 pixels.
4. Download and upload it to Pinterest, where it will fill its slot in the grid without being cut.

Frequently asked questions

Why 2:3 and not something taller?

Pinterest builds its feed out of 2:3 slots. A taller pin is not rejected, but past about 2:3 the feed shows only the top of it and hides the rest behind a tap, so the part of your image that does the work has to be in the first two-thirds anyway. 1000 × 1500 is the shape that shows whole.

Is 1000 × 1500 big enough?

Yes for the feed. Pinterest serves scaled copies, and 1000 pixels wide is enough to stay sharp on a phone, which is where most pins are seen. Going much larger mostly makes the upload slower.

Can I use a square photo?

You can, but it will sit in a 2:3 slot with its own edges cropped or padded depending on where it is shown. Cropping it yourself here means you decide which part survives rather than the feed deciding for you.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The crop and the resize happen in the browser; the file never leaves your device.
