How it works

  1. Drop the photo onto the box or choose it from your camera roll.
  2. Fill and crop is preselected: a square frame appears on the photo, as large as it fits. Drag it over the part you want in the post.
  3. Press Resize for Instagram. The output is exactly 1080 by 1080 pixels.
  4. Download and post. Instagram will not recompress a square that already matches its size as much as it would an oversized upload.

Frequently asked questions

What size is a Instagram post?
The Instagram post size is 1080 × 1080 pixels (1:1), for a square post; portrait posts are 1080 × 1350. Instagram displays square feed posts at 1080 pixels wide on high-density screens. Uploading exactly that size avoids Instagram's own downscaling and keeps text and edges sharp.
What about portrait (4:5) and Stories?
Use the Instagram portrait preset (1080×1350) or the Story preset (1080×1920) on the main Resize image tool, or their dedicated pages linked below.
Will part of my photo be cut off?
With Fill and crop, yes: whatever lies outside the square frame is trimmed, and you choose where the frame sits. Choose Fit inside to keep the whole photo with padding instead; the file is still 1080×1080.
Is the photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Resizing happens in your browser. Nothing is sent to Nouplo or to Instagram until you post it yourself.
Which format should I export?
JPG is the safe choice for photos and is what Instagram converts to anyway. PNG keeps flat colours and text sharper for graphics.
