How it works

  2. Choose square or round drills, how many across and how many colours.
  3. Check the preview; fewer colours make bolder areas, more keep the detail of a face.
  4. Download the chart and the key with drills and bags to order.

Frequently asked questions

How big will the painting be?
Drills across times the drill size: 100 square drills of 2.5 mm make 25 cm, and the same with 2.8 mm round drills make 28 cm. The first page of the chart gives the finished size in centimetres and inches.
How many drills do I need to buy?
The key counts the drills of each colour and gives bags of 200 with a tenth over, since a few always go missing. Drills are sold numbered by DMC colour, which is what the chart uses.
Square or round drills?
Square drills fill the canvas edge to edge and give a sharper picture; round ones are quicker to place and leave small gaps that catch the light. The preview shows the difference.
Is the white left empty as in cross stitch?
No. A diamond painting covers the whole canvas, so white and pale areas get drills of their own.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The chart is made in your browser and the photo never leaves your device. On the free plan a small line with our name is printed at the foot of the last page.
