How it works

  1. Drop the photos. A whole batch can take the same watermark in one run.
  2. Type the text, or choose My logo and pick a picture. A logo with a transparent background sits on the photo better than one on a white square.
  3. Choose tiled or a corner. Tiled is what stops someone cropping the mark off; a corner is for a photo you are publishing rather than protecting.
  4. Set the opacity, size and angle. 30% is readable without hiding the photo; raise it if the mark has to be obvious, lower it if the photo matters more.
  5. Press Add watermark and download. Files keep their name with -watermark added, so your originals are untouched.

Frequently asked questions

Can the watermark be removed?
Not easily, and that is all any watermark promises. A tiled mark across the middle of the picture is the hardest to take off, because removing it means repairing the picture underneath it everywhere. A small mark in a corner can be cropped away in seconds. No watermark is proof of ownership on its own; it is a deterrent and a credit line.
Will it fit a photo of any size?
Yes. The size, the spacing and the margin are all shares of the picture, not fixed pixels, so the same settings look the same on a phone photo and on a 24 MP one. Mixed sizes in a single batch all come out consistent.
Does the logo keep its transparency?
Yes, a PNG logo is drawn with its transparency intact, and it is never squashed: it keeps its own proportions. If you save the result as JPG the photo behind it is opaque anyway; choose PNG if the photo itself needs transparency.
Is my logo or my photo uploaded?
No. Both stay in the browser, and the logo you pick is not even kept between visits: pictures chosen as an option are never written to your device's storage, unlike the other settings, which are remembered.
Why is my text in the wrong letters?
It should not be: the mark is drawn on the page, with the page's own fonts, so Japanese, Korean, Turkish and accented letters come out as you typed them. If a character shows as a box, your device has no font for it.
Can I watermark a PDF instead?
Yes, but with the other tool: Watermark PDF stamps text across the pages of a PDF, keeping the text in the file selectable. This tool is for pictures.
What are the free limits?
The free plan handles 3 images per run, 20 MB each and 10 runs per day. Pro removes these limits.
