This tool runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you can even turn off your internet connection before you start.
How it works
- Drop photos with a person in them onto the box. Several can be done in one run.
- Keep the background transparent or choose white, light blue or grey.
- Press Remove background. The first time, the cut-out model and its runtime (about 16 MB) are downloaded.
- Download the results: transparent backgrounds as PNG, coloured ones as PNG or JPG.
Frequently asked questions
- Does it work for products or animals?
- This tool uses MODNet, a model trained to cut out people. It handles hair and shoulders well on photos of people, but it may not separate products, pets or landscapes correctly.
- Are my photos uploaded?
- No. The model is loaded into your browser and the cut-out is computed on your device. It is downloaded once and kept by the browser, so later uses start straight away and work offline.
- How long does it take?
- About a second or two per photo on a computer and a few seconds on a phone, plus the one-time download of about 16 MB.
- Which photos give poor results?
- Photos where the person is small, where hair or clothes match the background, or where people overlap or hold large objects can show rough edges. A person large in the frame against a distinct background works best.
- What are the free limits?
- The free plan handles 3 photos per run, 20 MB each and 10 runs per day. Pro removes these limits.
