Turn your handwriting into a font
Print the template, write in the boxes, take a photo — and type in your own hand.
1. Print the template
Print at 100% (actual size). Write one character in each box with a dark pen, sitting letters on the solid line.
2. Upload photos of the filled-in pages
Drop photos or scans of the filled-in pages here, in any order. Photograph each page whole, flat and in good light.
Your photos never leave this device.
3. Try and download your font
Your font appears here once a photo of a filled-in page has been read.
Nothing leaves your device
This tool runs entirely in your browser. What you type, play or record here stays on your device: nothing is uploaded or saved on a server.
How it works
- Download the template, print it at actual size, and write each character in its box with a dark pen, letters on the solid line.
- Photograph or scan every page — at an angle is fine — and add the photos in any order.
- Name your font, try it in the preview, and download the .otf file to install it.
Frequently asked questions
- Which apps can use the font?
- The download is an OpenType (.otf) font. Open it on Windows or a Mac to install it, then pick it in Word, Pages or any other app; on a phone or tablet, use it in apps that let you add a font file, such as Canva.
- What about accented letters?
- You draw each accent once and the tool puts it on the letters: é, ü, ñ, ç, ğ, ş, İ and the rest of the German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Turkish letters.
- What pen and photo work best?
- A black or dark blue pen or felt tip, the whole sheet in the picture with the four black squares, in even light. A phone photo at an angle is fine — the page is straightened from its corner marks.
- Can I make it bolder or space it out?
- Yes: choose thin, as written, bold or heavy, and widen or tighten the letter spacing; the font is rebuilt at once.
- Are my photos uploaded?
- No. The photos are read and the font is built in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
